Very GoodMediocreReasonable

Aroma rather complex...there's a hint of maltiness like an Assam, and a fairly strong presence of the light, clean quality of a high-grown Ceylon (as from Nuwara Eliya), and there are some spicy tones as well, including a hint of clove...and it oddly also has a suggestion of orange in there too.

Flavor is very sour...too sour for me...not as much bitterness as I'd like though. Slightly sweet, although not smooth by any stretch of the imagination. This tea is an opaque, dark reddish brown in color and has a thick texture. Rich, full-bodied, and leaves a lingering astringency that borders on unpleasant.

This is one of the better (and both unique/interesting) strong black teas in a teabag that I've had from a mainstream tea company. It's really a new / unique twist on a breakfast tea...can't say I've tried anything quite like this one before. Yet it has some objectionable qualities as well. I'm not sure how much of a fan I am of it overall.

I'd recommend not brewing too long. I brewed 2 and a half minutes and it was too long for me...but people who like very strong teas might enjoy it that way.
