Half-litre pot at home, made from small, curly black and dark brown leaves of black tea, with small pieces of dried ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves and cardamom. Pours slightly hazy darkish amber (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of cinnamon and caramel, with mild notes of vanilla and black tea. Sweetish, creamy and caramellish onset, giving way to bitter notes of black tea, turning into distinct, spicy nuances of cloves, cinnamon and pepper. Rather smooth palate but the aftertaste is peppery, with notes of cloves and mild touches of caramel. Decent, well-composed and spicy but not aggressive. A very good chai for a fair price (42 DKK per 100 g).
