Half-litre pot at home, made from fine, small black and dark brown leaves of Ceylon and Chinese black tea and tiny pieces of liquorice root - the blend emits a powerful scent of aniseed and liquorice. Pours slightly hazy robust copper brown (against white china) with no sediment. Intense aroma of aniseed and liquorice, with notes of black tea. Ditto flavour, although the Ceylon notes are in balance with the spices. Mildly astringent palate, actually surprisingly smooth for black tea, with an aftertaste of all the ingredients combined. A very well-balanced and enjoyable drink. Normally I tend to be rather easy on liquorice, but here it enriches the taste in a perfect way. Fair price for this definitely recommendable tea (37 DKK per 100 g).
