Dry or steeping, this tea smells of lemon candy.
The tea is pretty one-dimensional. The flavor is lemony with a slightly astringent, smoky finish. The spent teabags have a curious pink tinge to them. I'm guessing that it might be something like hibiscus for tartness, though none is specifically listed in the ingredients (tea, natural lemon flavor, other natural flavors). I don't expect much from Twinings, but I expect more than this.
It's pleasant if you like lemon, but it doesn't taste much like tea. If that's what you're going for, this tea lacks the spice of Bigelow's Lemon Lift and is comparably priced.
