As with most Farmer Brothers teas, I got this at a motel. Some motels have nice management who offers tea, and a most-welcomed minority of them offer more than only straight Lipton, or than the cheapest possible store brand like Great Value. When they do, and it's reasonably good, I try to commend the staff directly for that choice. This offering, while not the upper echelon of fruit herbal teas, earned that level of laud.
The dry-bag aroma took me aback a bit, with a decidedly woody smell, as in fresh-cut lumber (more light deciduous than conifer, like ash or basswood). Under that was a generic fruit/berry aroma that could be anything. The in-cup aroma and flavor, however, lost most (not all) of the wooden element in favor of definite pomegranate, without the sourness of teas that use a lot of hibiscus. [I saw hibiscus in the bag, but not in big proportion.] The aftertaste got more sour than the straight chug or sip, but not enough to be offputting.
While not particularly strong, the fruit dominated the drinking experience. It seemed like an ideal candidate to steep alongside a black tea bag for folks who want a flavored black tea of this ilk. This pomegranate tea is a baby step above most fruity herbals I've had of the food-service type.
