This is called French Breakfast but it conjures up more of a Russian image to me, especially the combination of rose with other flavorings, against the background of a strong black tea.
I was expecting this to be stronger than some of Octavia's other teas, which tend to be stronger than typical for their style, but this one was typical in strength for a breakfast tea.
The dry leaf smells a bit muddled, but upon brewing I like it more. Aroma is strongly suggestive of cinnamon--a bit puzzling as there is no cinnamon listed. I don't like more than a hint of cinnamon in tea, and I think the fact that it resembled cinnamon made me dislike this blend more than I otherwise would.
This tea was good for what it was, but it wasn't the sort of blend I would normally like. It is my least favorite of Octavia's teas that I've sampled yet, but even as such, it was not bad and I'd drink it again (and prefer it to a number of other flavored black teas). Price is high but not astronomical given its quality and the fair trade and organic status.
