Half-litre pot at home, made from dark brown leaves of pure black (= red) Ban Lien tea. Pours nearly clear copper brown (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of black tea, with leafy notes and mild nutty touches. Delicate, bitter, leafy flavour bordering on nutty and sweetish notes. Mildly astringent palate with leafy aftertaste and hints of tannin. This delicious beverage tastes like a forest in a cup. An expensive treat (€15.70 per 100 g) but a really good one. It resembles the (equally good but considerably cheaper) wild Phongsali from Laos sold by the same tea company.
12 g / l; 95 C; 2.5 min.
