As I've noted here before, peppermint is hard to mess up. It can be done, mind you—usually through neglect or delay in processing the plucked plant pieces—but fortunately, that's not common. Traditional Medicinals did not mess up their peppermint, which is sourced in unspecified part(s) of the Pacific Northwest.
The dry-bag and in-cup aromas were decidedly above average for a decent-quality peppermint -- not exploding with ester, but stout, pleasing and soothing nonetheless. Where the smell shines brightest is in the wet-bag scent, which matters more with peppermint than most tea products because of its use as an aromatherapy agent (in this case, breathing through a moist bag). It's quite strong and long-lasting there, almost worthwhile for that alone, and doesn't hurt that the drinking flavor is moderately robust, somewhat sweet, and quite cooling in the mouth and throat.
The only (somewhat) deleterious category here is value. While their peppermint offering is quite good in all ways, TM teas overall have gotten quite expensive in the usual retail outlets (most major grocery chains, some drugstores, and health-food stores). That may be fine for their proprietary and trademarked medicinal blends, but straight peppermint? Nah. I easily can pay half as much for a peppermint tea of the same high quality. [I'm even growing it now, including a "Chocolate Mint" cultivar found at H-E-B grocers in Texas, so my days of buying and reviewing peppermint here are likely numbered.] So I recommend TM's peppermint tea conditionally: on sale, or in a discounted secondary market of some sort, as with a clearance store, or the estate sale where I got a box for a buck.
