The aroma smells strongly of licorice but it also has a musty smelling undertone, I really enjoy that! The first ingredient of this tea is licorice root which I normally really love in herbal teas because of its natural sweetness, but this one tastes kind of weird and and the sweetness of the licorice overpowers any other flavors that should be there. The initial taste lacks depth and has a weak flavor, and the immediate aftertaste is strong with that sweetness I talked about from the licorice. The flavors of this tea do not seem very balanced at all and they sort of clash with each other. Another strange quality of this tea is that long after taking a sip there is still this lingering flavor in the back of my throat that is not very pleasant. The one plus of this tea is that it is not bitter or astringent at all! Overall I dislike this tea though. Two herbal teas with licorice that I do really like are “Egyptian licorice” and “breath deep” by the same brand.
