Chim Chim Tea – CLOSED
Last Updated: Jan. 15, 2018
↑About Chim Chim Tea
Chim Chim Tea was a brand of tea owned by Kapchebet Tea Factory Ltd, a Kenyan tea company which was founded on April 13th, 2007. Chim Chim Tea sold only high-grown, CTC (mechanically processed) tea; the tea is grown by small farmers in the region surrounding the factory, the Kericho highlands. Chim Chim Tea was classified and sold by grade.
Chim Chim Tea was available in Kenya, but Kapchebet Tea Factory also provides tea wholesale, which is sold through Kaptea. The same teas available in Kenya are sold in the U.S. and other countries under other brand names, through Kaptea.
Kapchebet Tea Factory mostly produces black tea, but it does produce a small amount of green tea as well.
The Chim Chim brand seems to have been discontinued; as of 2018 its former website or domain has been taken over by hackers, and we were not able to find any information on the circumstances of the brand's closure.

This tea is okay. It has a sort of weird sweet vegetal taste to it. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to prepare it, because it's so fine that it goes through the strainer, and I have bits of leaf in my cup.
