Nutty Almond Cream from Tiesta Tea

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend

I usually like strong teas and this one has a very subtle flavor with no substantial base to it. When I first tasted it I liked the creamy flavor, but after a while I've gotten tired of it. It has a bright red hue that turns pale pink when I add cream or milk. Probably because of the beets. I can barely taste the almo...

Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Blend

95 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Sep. 25th, 2017

This is my favorite decaf tea. It tastes a lot like the regular version to me, since the main thing that characterizes this tea is the bergamot flavor - strong but not overpowering, and blends well with the tea. I always brew it for a minute or two longer than the regular, about 6 minutes, and at this strength I can ba...

Style: Black Tea – Region: Tanzania

65 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

This tea seems decent. The aroma is musky and somewhat smoky. It tastes a bit bitter, and similar to other cheap black teas. I wouldn't choose it over other black teas, but I wouldn't mind drinking more of it. I added cream and sugar.

I like this tea. It's rich, strong, and not too bitter. I added cream and sugar. I probably wouldn't buy it myself because it has a lot of plastic packaging.

This is pretty good. I can't even tell that it's rooibos-based. I don't usually like rooibos, but this tastes more like pumpkin muffins or something. If I could choose, I'd have it with a bit less cinnamon, but it's good as-is. I added cream and sugar.

This tea is kind of weird. I don't know what to think of it. It smells kind of like a meaty soup, with a smoky aroma. I don't even know how to describe the flavor. It doesn't really taste like what I think of as white tea. It has sort of a muddled, soggy, and rich quality, like soup. I added cream and sugar.

This tea has a kind of interesting flavor/aroma, but it's so weak I can barely taste it, after brewing it for 5 minutes. It's very thin and watery. I tend to like stronger teas. I added cream and sugar.

Apr. 12th, 2014

I like chai teas, but this is the first chocolate chai that I've tried. The aroma is mostly overpowered with cinnamon. Alex advised me to take out the chocolate chunks because he thought they would ruin the tea brewer, so I did, but I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to. Anyway, I didn't taste the chocolate flavor mu...

77 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 4/5
Feb. 4th, 2014

I like this tea - it's very strong and dark. I have a be careful when brewing it because there's a short window of time that it comes out good - for me about 3 minutes. After that it starts to get very bitter and astringent. I'm starting to notice that in general, it's hard to find decaf black teas that have a lot of f...

This tea has a sweet aroma. I thought it was kind of mild and watery at first (after brewing it for 8 minutes) but as I get further down in the cup, it seems to taste fuller. It has a kind of sharp, sweet flavor. It's surprisingly astringent for a Darjeeling tea. It leaves my mouth feeling kind of fuzzy. I added cream ...

I was surprised when I tasted this tea. I don't like the aroma much - it smells like raisin toast, and I don't like the raisin aroma. But the taste is really different. It has a toasty flavor that I like. It's a little odd. I added cream and sugar.

This tea brews really quickly. The first time I tried it I brewed it too long - 4-5 minutes. I tried 3 minutes and it turned out well. I like it. It's interesting. Kind of fruity, but not too much. It has a rich, crisp flavor. It's a little more bitter than I would ideally like. I added cream and sugar.

Traditional Guayusa (Teabags) from Runa

This is the first time I've tried plain (unflavored) guayusa. I'm used to drinking black teas and other similar things, so that's what I'm comparing it to. It smells kind of like the woods on a wet day. The flavor is weird - it tastes okay but it has a hint of rotting plant flavor, and that turns me off to it. I added ...
