About Baksa, Assam, India
Baksa is a district in Assam, India, and is considered part of Bodoland, a region in Northwest Assam inhabited by the Bodo people. It was created in 2003 as part of the Barpeta, Nalbari, and Kamrup districts, in the end of an armed conflict that created the Bodoland Territorial Council, a semi-autonomous region in Assam. It is bordered to the east by Udalguri.Baksa grows some tea; Doomni estate is located here. Some older sources mention the older district names when describing the location of tea gardens in this region.
