About Lin'an, Zhejiang, China
Lin'an(临安) is a county-level district located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China. Most of the region is mountainous and covered in forest, but there is a small, very densely-populated urban area towards the east of the district, towards but somewhat removed from the urban center of Hangzhou. Daming and Tianmu mountains are tourist attractions in the district. The area is high in biodiversity, owing to its large portion of forest cover.
The climate in the region is subtropical and very humid, but with some days of frost in the three coldest months of winter. Although precipitation follows the pattern of the Asian monsoon, the seasonal rainfall differences are less pronounced here, with wetter winters than typical for Asia. Rainfall peaks in June.
Tea, including cloud and mist (yun wu) green tea, is grown here in the region around Tianmu mountain(天目山).
