Clean tasting, mild, with a slightly bitter caramel-like quality. A bit flat, simple tasting, but very pleasant. Has a cooling quality, even when hot, and I think it would make a very classic iced tea.
I was expecting this tea to be similar to Upton's ZP20, Panyang Congou Select, because of the similar name, but it was very different. Not even a hint of smokiness in this tea.
Upton mentions "reminiscent of Keemun" but I think this refers to the leaf shape, not the aroma or flavor, which I found to bear little resemblance to Keemun.
This tea infuses very slowly. I find this tea can be steeped longer than Upton recommends, and in fact, tastes better this way. I enjoyed a seven-minute infusion: it brings out a bit of the complexity of the tea, and results in a more full-bodied cup.
