Another very good black tea from Upton Tea Imports, above-average for Upton's Ceylons, which I tend to like less than their Indian black teas. Middle-of-the-road black tea character, but very well-executed.
This tea is broken into small, wiry pieces of already small leaf, which unfurl upon brewing. Brewed as instructed, brews a very dark cup.
Complex aroma. Malty and strong like an Assam, but with a fresher, lighter character. Some suggestions both of grape and raisin, and some chocolatey tones. Can easily be brewed weaker or stronger to suit different tastes.
Easy to brew, I'd imagine this tea would please most black tea drinkers.
