This tea was barely like other gunpowder green tea, and much more like other high-grade Chinese green teas. The loose leaf is only loosely rolled, and looks quite delicate.
Aroma is vegetal and light, and suggests sweetness. There's no overt smokiness but there's a suggestion of camphor in the aroma, which I dislike. Besides that though, I like everything about this tea. It has a tingly mouthfeel, and is smooth and even a bit sweet.
Although the leaf is fine it is relatively slow to infuse.
I like this tea very much, but the camphor in the aroma would keep it from becoming a favorite. I did find, however, that you can minimize the camphor quality by using low temperature water, and brewing gong-fu style, using more leaf and many brief steepings. This is one tea that really shines when brewed in this manner, in contrast to mediocre performance when brewed western-style.
