I was surprised to find that this decaffeinated black tea is actually a single-region tea, originating in Sumatra, Indonesia.
After drinking a single-estate Darjeeling first flush for breakfast, one that I gave a 100 rating, this tea tastes pretty flavorless, but in the broader picture, it's not bad. An interesting change of pace from the typical decaffeinated tea.
Flavor is very muted. Aroma is predominately of grape or dried fruit like raisin, a bit like a Keemun. There are some dusty tones reminiscent of shu Pu-erh. Not very complex, and aroma is a bit flat, but really not bad, especially given that this is decaffeinated.
