The dry leaves have a fruitier aroma than the brewed tea, which is almost totally devoid of fruitiness, and is more earthy and slightly spicy. Tones of black pepper in the aroma.
Very full-bodied. Aftertaste is a bit flat. Not terribly complex in the aroma, but still enjoyable. I prefer Adagio's honeybush, which is on the thin side, but has a much fruitier aroma. Although, this one is organic and theirs isn't.
I have had better luck with a 2-minute infusion than the 8 minutes Upton recommends. This seems to bring out the fruity tones, and and downplays the peppery quality, which I find results in a lighter and more refreshing cup.
