This purple tea was quite interesting...it did taste substantially different from most black tea, even though at a glance it just looked like a typical broken-leaf black tea.
Flavor is initially smooth, but it has some bite to it after the initial sip, leaving an almost peppery finish. Unlike the Royal Tajiri Tea which had a high-grown, Darjeeling-like character, this tea was more average in character. But the aroma had some qualities unlike any other kind of tea I've tried...and I find it difficult to describe. Certain aspects of it resembled Chinese pan-fired green teas, but only slightly.
I wasn't wowed by this one as much as I was by the other offerings from Royal Tea of Kenya. But I thought this tea was solidly good.

This is a tea I'm hoping to get my hands on shortly. I'm pretty curious about it, as there's been quite a lot of talk about the tea. I've been wondering whether it can live up to the hype. Thanks for the review. If I don't rate it higher than that either, then I'll be a little disappointed.
