This tea impressed me, and I'll say it is not only the only citrus-flavored green tea that I have really enjoyed, but it is also my favorite flavored tea from Adagio yet!
The dry leaf has a strong aroma of lime and citronella, but upon brewing, the citrus aroma is more subdued.
The aroma has a pleasing, grassy and corn-like aroma which follows the initial citrus. Flavor is subtle, relatively smooth. Although Adagio's description says that the base tea is from China, the base tea tastes to me a lot more like Bancha, a Japanese green tea, than like any Chinese green teas that I know. The leaf, with large, flat pieces of leaf, also looked a little like bancha to me, so I don't know if this has to do with production method?
Either way I liked this tea...the citrus blends well, and the citrus quality is more of lime than lemon, which I like both because I like lime, and because I think lemon tends to be a little over-used as a tea flavoring.
I tend to be hard to please when it comes to flavored teas, so I want to give Adagio props on this one. It is also quite inexpensive!
