Review of Toasted Sesame
December 2nd, 2012
Aroma | Flavor | Value | Total |
3 of 10 | 2 of 5 | 4 of 5 | 43 of 100 |
Poor | Mediocre | Good Value |
The aroma of the leaves and the tea itself are very bland, no toasted sesame at all just a vague burnt smell.
Sadly I found this tea disappointing, it tastes like a decent black tea but there is not sesame taste except for a vague burnt taste. I was hoping for a bold sesame taste but did not get that.

That's sad...sesame and black tea sounds like such an intriguing combination. And I love toasted aromas in tea--like in genmaicha and hojicha. Even Adagio's site doesn't seem to have the best reviews for this tea, so maybe they will be encouraged to reformulate it or try it again. Something tells me that this is a combination that could be carried out well.

I love toasted teas and agree, this flavor seems so intriguing but it was so not what I was expecting. If they do reformulate it I would definitely give it another go because I see real potential
