I was expecting this tea, on the basis of its name, to be basically the same tea as Rishi's China Breakfast, as that tea also comes from Yunnan province. I don't know if it is a different tea, if it was simply a different batch that I tried, or if something about steeping it in a tea bag changed the character, but it tasted quite different to me.
The aroma of the tea is strongly fruity, and has a classic Yunnan character.
I found this tea to be quite a bit heavier, however, than the China breakfast I am used to. That tea is a little more clean and brews a lighter color.
I would brew more weakly than Rishi recommends. There is a lot of leaf in this tea bag, and 4 minutes is a long steeping time. I found this resulted in too much astringency for my taste.
I thought this tea was very reasonably priced for high-quality sachets. It's priced similarly to brands like Two Leaves and a Bud, and I think I would prefer this to any of their black teas, and it also has the organic and fair trade certification. Still, this seems pricey compared to Rishi's loose-leaf.
