Aroma very much like a Dong Ding Jade Oolong, very floral, but with a faint hint of a woody quality absent from those teas; this tea tastes very slightly more oxidized. Very smooth, but leaving a tingling sensation in the mouth. The aroma is very pleasing, but not terribly complex.
Using Upton's instructions I brewed a second cup, about a 6 minute infusion, and the second cup was surprisingly flavorful, but much of the floral aroma was gone. I also tried a single longer infusion, and the results were very similar to the first 4 minute infusion.
I prefer using more leaf than Upton recommends. Normally, a little over 2g is enough for a cup, but on this one, I think you really need at least 3.
This tea is expensive, and in my opinion, overpriced. It's good but falls short of excellent. I've had less expensive teas that have been more complex and were better for multiple infusions.
