Half-litre pot at home. Pours clear pale straw with no sediment. Mild aroma of green tea leaves, with hints of pine. Clean, bitterish flavour of green tea, leaving a slightly rough and astringent palate. Refreshing, well-balanced and evoking memories from my short trip to Japan eight years ago. Not in the cheap end (50 DKK per 100 g) but worth the money for the pure experience. I had the first cup unsweetened, then added half a tsp sugar to the next one. The leafy notes did not diminish, which I found quite positive, and the added sweetness was actually quite in harmony with the pure flavour. Not bad, then. Now, the tea company states on its website that this tea is harvested mechanically. I wonder if this has any influence on the taste, and I am looking forward to tasting some manually harvested Sencha one day.
