Half-litre pot at home, made from loose curly dried leaves of varying colour, spanning most shades of brown and grey. Pours clear reddish copper brown (against white china) with no sediment. Clear and seductive aroma of high quality red (= black) tea leaves, with malty touches, reminiscent of the Lao Wild Phongsali or the Vietnamese Ban Lien. Bitterish, leafy flavour, with sweetish touches of malt and delicate fruity hints. Mildly astringent palate, but far smoother than in most black teas I have tasted. An excellent, perfectly balanced beverage that tastes, smells and feels of a warm evening breeze in distant hills. This aesthetic journey is rather expensive (75 DKK per 100 g), but, well, who says it should be undertaken every day?
