Review of Woodland Berries (No. 1493)

Half-litre pot at home, made from a sample included in the tea company's Advent Tea Calendar (2020) and consisting of a mixture of dried elderberries, blueberries, pieces of apple, black currants and hibiscus blossom, all sprinkled with aroma and perhaps even containing traces of peanuts - a fair warning to those allergic to nuts - but not a single leaf of tea is to be found in this tea. Pours hazy dark blood red (against white china) with no sediment. Clear aroma of blueberries, apples, and currants. Dry flavour of blueberries, hibiscus and tart apples, with notes of black currants. Acidic palate with an aftertaste of berries. Well, a very berry blend. Nice but rather tame. Definitely a reasonable price, given the context (ca. €0.42 per 1 sample in the collection; given the disastrously low cost-effectiveness of all fruit teas made by the company, including this one, the sample is actually cheaper than a corresponding amount in loose weight - that's something!).
