Bigelow has trotted out a few herbals with lemon and ginger involved, so I don't know how much this differs from the others in ingredients (aside from the presumed probiotics, which I still wonder about surviving the boiling water of the steeping process). Based on RateTea's listings, they are titled:
* Ginger Snappishâ„¢ Herbal Tea with Lemon
* Steep Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea
* Lemon Ginger Plus Probiotics Herbal Tea (this one)
This blend's dry aromas were modest and fairly evenly balanced between a sweet ginger and somewhat artificial-smelling lemon. In-cup, an unadvertised and unexpected plot turn surprised me, but in a good way, since I like the flavor: a pronounced and unmistakable butterscotch element. When heavily sweetened, it's almost like sucking on those hard, orange-brown butterscotch hard candies from the old white, pink and blue Brach's store displays of childhoods from the '80s and before. Both lemon and ginger taste elements are there, but mild, sweet and very much taking a backseat to this other, unlabeled flavor. If this tea instead were named "Butterscotch Melt" or some such, it would be believable. In fact, it tastes more like that to me (even with the background lemon and ginger) than the other, overtly advertised one I've had, "Butterscotch Blondie" flavored black tea from Tazo. Weird!
