Karigane (Gyokuro Sencha)
|
Commercial Description
Similar to Gyokuro, Karigane has a good level of Umami and like Kukicha is also has a mild green vegetable flavor. The vegetable flavor lingers for a while and the Umami comes back as an after taste.

The aroma is delicious! Vegetal with notes of artichoke and a hint of chestnut with an underlying hint of kelp. There is also a sweetness that just mixes perfectly with the other aromas. Once brewed it takes on a woodsy aroma with oddly, a hint of lime. It certainly smells like stems and I like that.
The taste very good, umami mixed with chestnut and a gentle sweetness that becomes more prominent as it cool.
