I agree with all below. If this tea steeps more than a minute or so, you end up with a very bitter brew. One of the things I like about this is that I can get 4-5 brews from one bag.

I bought the non-pyramid bags of PG Tips and loved them...so I bought a bigger box, and this time noticed they were pyramid shaped when I got them home. They steep very quickly which I guess is good if you are in a rush, but if you leave it for more than 2 minutes, it's so bitter as to be practically undrinkable. I'll stick with the regular shaped tea bags thanks.

These teabags seem to be meant for more than one cup. The tea brews very rapidly and is very strong. It wasn't terribly complex; it had a muted quality...very bitter aftertaste but initial taste was a bit smoother. Very tannic; do not let this steep too long; a very brief (1 min.) infusion I find is best. Even then I find this tea much too astringent relative to the lack of complexity in the aroma.
Still, this is a considerable step up from most of the mainstream American brands of straight black tea available in teabags. In the states, though, PG Tips tends to be pricey, and in my opinion, is not worth the premium--for that price you could just buy much better loose tea.

You want a tea that makes you feel less like Miss Muffet at a tea party and more like a tire-changing, farm-implement-using, PBR-swilling bad boy? This is your brew. Fiercely straightforward, startlingly bitter if left to steep. Pricier than it should be in the states.
