The smell of this tea is amazing, with a very strong almond vibe. The flavor picks up the black tea a bit too much for me, but I would imagine that big fans of black tea would find it well balanced. I don't detect a lot of vanilla, but it does seem to impart a sweetness.
In brief, it's great for what it is, but it's not my cup.

I have had both the bags and the loose leaf of this delightful tea, I prefer the loose but the bags are wonderful as well. The aroma is a great blend of vanilla and almond that does not overpower the tea smell. The flavor comes in layers, first the almond, then the vanilla, and lastly the smooth black tea. Rich without being overwhelmed by the flavors and is subtly sweet.

This is my all time favorite tea. The smell alone is an experience when you open the tin. I am drawn to strong black tea, and this one delivers that underneath the smooth sweetness of vanilla and a charming nutty almond flavor.
Unlike some flavored teas, the vanilla and almond are prominent to the last sip.
I prefer loose leaf for the fullest flavor, though the bagged variety is also tasty.
This tea is more expensive than some, but can be an outstanding value - especially when ordered in bulk. Also, unlike grocery store brands I find I can brew a bag, or infuser full of loose leaf, 2-3 times and get still get a satisfying cup.

You can find this in a bag or loose leaf in the bulk tea section of your favorite natural foods store (eg Rainbow Grocery in SF) or on the RoT website. I prefer the more environmentally friendly and IMO better tasting loose leaf.
A smooth, very full flavored tea with prominent vanilla and almond flavors. Pricier than the cheapie flavored blacks but a dramatic step up in quality. Serve with whole milk and sugar.

This was my first Republic of Tea experience. I was immediately drawn to their unbleached, tag-less round tea bags.
The aroma of this tea is strong, and smells like a dessert tea. It has a nutty scent along with the vanilla.
The tea has a smooth almond flavor, accented by sweet vanilla. It tastes so real, like vanilla beans themselves.
The flavor of black tea is also strong (I brew my teas strong), which I feel really brings out the other flavors even more.
This is a little strong and bold for me to drink first thing in the morning, but is great later on when I need a boost.

I love this tea! Creamy mouthfeel; round vanilla flavor on a nicely assertive base of black. Great aroma.
