I sampled this tea at World Tea East and liked it a lot, wrote the review, but waited to post it until the tea was actually released.
I have actually now sampled a handful of black tea from Tanzania, including the mainstream brand Chai Bora, and single estate teas, both orthodox and CTC.
This tea had a malty aroma, but was noticeably lighter than most Assams which are similar in aroma. Flavor profile was typical for a black tea: medium strength. I really liked the combination of lighter, cleaner qualities with the malty character.
Slightly pricey, however, especially given that there's a broken-leaf orthodox Tanzanian tea from Upton Tea Imports, Livingstonia Estate GFBOP, that I prefer, and that is a fraction of the price. That tea had strong wintergreen tones that were much less present in this one. But I'd still recommend trying this one if you have the opportunity.
