Unfortunately the smell of the leaves was overpowered by my Jayne tea, but I could make out a hint of clove. As with most black teas it’s bitter without sugar, but when you add sugar it really brings out the spice. It has a very clove-y taste which is really great as it pairs really well with the sweetness.

The leaves themselves have a very deep vanilla smell and, when brewed, it changes to a subtle fruity aroma with a nutty hint. It's not as bitter as I expected it would be without sugar - you can definitely taste the apricot. It's not bad exactly, but it is sort of a let down. Two teaspoons of sugar bring out the vanill...

It’s a gunpowder/chestnut blend with anise and cinnamon. The scent of the leaves is really sweet and candle-worthy, but when you brew it it has a very subtle gunpowder smell with a hint of spice. The tea itself smells deliciously like vanilla, and once brewed has a very subtle apple scent. It’s actually quite pleasant without sugar, which is rare for me to say.
