I've seen Dragonwell here and there and I had the general impression that it is a pretty well-known tea with a good reputation, so i wanted to try it. (In fact, one of my proudest tea lover moments was seeing Longjing mentioned in Death's End by Liu Cixin and knowing what that is - and actually having some myself.)
But for me this tea is mostly about the name. I don't know if I'm making it wrong, but usually it's pretty unspectacular to me. I think the shape of the leaves throws me off, since it's more difficult to judge how much I'm using and how much I've used previously, so my attempts are a bit inconsistent.
It's generally kind of sweet, though, I think, and I inexplicably always think of melon when I drink this tea. I don't know if that's got something to do with the flavour or what. It also leaves my mouth very dry like some green teas do.
