Formula: broom straw + lavender + chamomile = sugar cookies!
My wife brought a jar of this home from an estate sale figuring I'd try almost anything. She's right, although admittedly I'm not a fan of floral teas that smell or taste overtly so. Such teas remind me of drinking an old girlfriend's perfume: no bueno! This tea, fortunately, ain't like that. In fact, though the lavender buds are several and easy to see in the sachet, I had to try very hard to detect their scent in the dry-bag, in-cup liquid, or taste. It only parsed itself out in the wet-bag aroma, very faintly so. Same with the chamomile, though I like that as a stand-alone flavor better than lavender.
Instead, the rooibos base does a great job holding the chamomile and lavender in check and balance, so that the (sweetened) result smells and tastes like a freshly baked sugar cookie. Yum! Since rooibos alone tastes like broom straw to me—but somehow, not in this blend—there's the source for the equation above.
Our version came as 15 sachets with 1.6 oz. tea total, in a standard, salsa-sized glass Arkansas canning jar that was externally spray-painted dark gray, before the Paromi label was glued on. That sounds weird, but it does work to keep the light out (including UV) and keep the tea fresh. The smell upon opening the jar is heavenly...if you like opening an oven to the scent of hot cookies.
