Snowflake Gyokuro from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend

70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 20th, 2014

So from the aroma, all I am getting is mint and marshmallow, it is very sweet and the mint clears my sinuses, wintry indeed! I can certainly see snow being represented by the cleanness of mint and the gentle sweetness of marshmallow, but I wonder where the aroma of the Gyokuro is?

This tea is hard to describe, and i...

Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Black Tea from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: India

67 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 13th, 2014

The aroma is really sweet, it smells just like one of those vending machine danishes (I don't think I have ever had any other kind of danish actually) there is intense blueberry notes with a hint of cream cheese and a touch of yeastiness like pastry. Add a touch of malty tea and it reminds me of drinking tea and having...

Gingerbread Smoke from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Apr. 24th, 2014

The aroma is more or less exactly what I expected from a tea named Gingerbread Smoke, it is quite richly smoky with warm spices and an especially strong kick of ginger. Everything about the aroma of this tea is warm, from the lingering memories of a fire to the spices, good for sniffing on a chilly evening.

The tast...

Caramel Apple Oolong from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Oolong – Region: Fujian, China

50 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 20th, 2014

The aroma smells nothing like apples or caramel, it smells like melons. I really do not like melons. Once brewed the melon smell dies down and there are notes of apples and caramel.

I am going to start this by saying I like the Oolong base, it is rich and sweet with caramel notes (ok that actually could be from the ...

Smaug Tea from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: Blend

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Jan. 1st, 2014

The aroma of this tea is intense, so much so it made me sneeze. Lots of heat and spice with a hint of smoke. The brewed tea brings more vegetal aroma with the spice and the liquid without the leaves is smooth, vegetal and spicy with a hint of smokiness.

The taste is intense, starting off sweetly vegetal with the mi...

Butterbeer from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: ?????

53 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5
Dec. 3rd, 2013

Taking my fangirling out of the picture for this review, because I have a very distinct idea of what Butterbeer should taste like and I don't want that to skew things. The aroma is intensely like Rootbeer, which would be great if I liked rootbeer, which I don't. Once brewed it takes on a creamy note and a slight hint o...

Graveyard Mist from 52 Teas

Style: Flavored Green Tea – Region: China

77 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Oct. 12th, 2013

Marshmallow steals the show! Not necessarily the candy sweet but the sweetness of marshmallow root. There are also vegetal notes and a bit of mint. Once steeped the leaves have more mint and the marshmallow sweetness becomes more light, replaced with more vegetal.

The flavor is sweet and minty. Very mild and subtle...
