I really enjoyed this tea, although it was not my favorite-of-all-favorites. It grew on me somewhat as I drank it more. I'd put it towards the category of "my least favorite among my most favorite types of tea" if that makes sense? Like it breaks into the top category but only barely.

The leaf is quite beautiful, I'...

"Yu Luo" High Mountain Pure Bud Green Tea from Yunnan Sourcing

Thanks Dewey for sharing this with me! This was a smooth, mellow, mild green tea that was easy to brew and enjoy.

The leaf of this smells very fresh, a sort of sweet fragrance, almost floral, typical of high-quality, tippy Chinese green teas. It's pleasant but also hard to anticipate how it is going to taste, so I w...

Yunnan "Black Gold Bi Luo Chun" Black Tea from Yunnan Sourcing

Style: Yunnan Red – Region: Simao, Yunnan, China

93 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5

I found this a pleasant tea to drink but it was not among my favorites. It was surprisingly different from its organic counterpart. Of the two, I strongly preferred this one.

The leaf is tightly rolled and quite beautiful. Compared to the organic version of this tea, it looks a little paler in color and slightly loo...

Yunnan "Black Gold Bi Luo Chun" Certified Organic Black Tea from Yunnan Sourcing

Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Simao, Yunnan, China

82 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5

This tea was quite singular, unlike most of the other teas from Yunnan Sourcing. I thought it was a good tea but it was a bit too much for me. It's strong, both by flavor and caffeine. I am reviewing the Spring Harvest from 2020.

This tea took up a lot less space than most all the other Yunnan Teas I've tried. The d...

Yunnan "Assamica Gold Needle" Black Tea from Yunnan Sourcing

Style: Yunnan Gold – Region: Simao, Yunnan, China

96 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 5/5
Sep. 7th, 2021

This was a straightforward tea that I found easy to like; I became a fan from the first sip. It's robust, easy to brew, easy to drink, and pleasing in both flavor and aroma. Overall, it is more flavorful than aromatic though.

The dry leaf is beautiful, a very bright yellow color, not as orangeish as many of these ti...

Long Mei Yunnan Green Tea of Zhenyuan from Yunnan Sourcing

84 / 100 Aroma: 9/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 4/5

This was a robust green tea that was challenging to brew, but rewarding when I got it right. Thank you to Dewey for sharing this one with me!

The leaf is beautiful, wiry, slightly curly, and diverse in color, from dusty dark green to silvery-gray with a yellowish tinge. It has a potent fragrance, with a hint of camp...

This was a peculiar and rather fascinating tea, a real bargain buy, and a good afternoon tea.

The leaf is very large and has an aroma that is lightly malty, but also rather herbaceous. It smells more like green teas or raw Pu-erh than is typical for a black tea. Both its appearance and aroma remind me of some of the...

High Mountain Red Ai Lao Mountain Black Tea from Yunnan Sourcing

I was eager to try this tea based on its description. I love big-leafed black teas from Taiwan and also love Taiwanese oolongs, as well as Yunnan red teas, and this tea seemed to have something in common with all of these. It wasn't really like I expected though; it was quite good, but in a different way. It was my lea...

Oct. 27th, 2019

This is definitely my favorite tea I've ever ordered from Yunnan Sourcing, and one of the most exceptional teas I've ever tried. And this is coming from someone who usually is not a huge fan of the super-golden bud-heavy teas like this.

Opening the bag, there's an ethereal fragrance of flowers and sweet, bready malt...

This was among the most interesting of the white teas I've tried, although more familiar and similar to typical white teas than moonlight white. E. Alex Gerster called this tea "sturdy" and I like that; I also want to thank him for providing me with this sample.

Dry leaf has a peculiar aroma, like caramel and overr...
