Landing at a Trader Joe's store in Tucson while on a photography road trip out thataway, I bought a box of this, as a presumably acceptable substitute for some of the truly terrible, off-brand and store-brand (here's looking at you, Great Value) bagged green teas offered at motels and campgrounds. It was, but still fa...

This is a Mediocre, easy to find (at every TJ's) green tea with a slight "green grassy" taste. Not horrible, but not delicious. There are way better teas (some cheaper, some more expensive) that simply taste fresher and better.
Seemed a little stale tasting - even though I just bought it. Well, at least I did not...

I have been to Avaata Tea Estate in the Nilgiris in southern India. The natural tea leaves are perfect in shape and need not to be fermented. Each single sip of tea fills your mouth with sensation of fruits and flowers. Fairly sharp and extremely smooth flavor. Golden Tips Teas are doing great work to assemble best of ...

Magnificent! Not quite what I would expect form green tea; definitely thought is was more reminiscent of high quality green oolongs.
I couldn't get enough of the vegetal flavor and buttery soupy texture. This was a thick tea, and practically a meal in itself.
Handles well over multiple steepings; I'm pretty sure...

This is one of the best green teas I've tried to come out of India, or anywhere outside China and Japan for that matter. It also tasted the most like a top-notch Chinese green tea, of any tea I've tried yet from India.
The dry leaf of this tea is very loosely packed, consisting of whole, intact leaves which are lar...

The aroma of the rather large, pale, leaves is a bit light at first, but some good snuffling brings out the notes of fresh cut vegetation, baking bread, lima beans and green beans. This is another one of those teas that makes me hungry while sniffing it again.
The taste is unique, like a blend of a first flush Darje...

I thought this was pretty terrible. Steeped for 3 minutes with 180F degree water.
Cup is almost aroma-less...reminds me a little bit of Bigelow's Green Tea, but I thought less enjoyable. Tastes a lot like some decaf tea...flat. There's some herbaceous quality in the aroma, like celery, a faint honey-like finish, ...

My first Nilgiri green tea.
This was an interesting tea, but it was weaker in aroma than I would have liked. Tangy flavor, with tones of lemon or lime in the aroma. A hint of grassy tones, and cooked vegetable aromas as well, like asparagus. Almost a hint of vanilla in the aroma. Very much unlike Chinese or Japa...

Fascinating, unique. Brews clear green. The aroma is dark and warm, and un-tea-like...it is almost like a good soup, with subtle spices and cooked vegetables.
Following Upton's brewing instructions, the flavor is mellow, smooth, and warm in character, with almost no bitterness...but lacking the crispness I like in ...
