A bit of a muddled aroma, but it works. There are some fruity tones, like a muscatel Darjeeling but with a more tangy flavor. Unusual and different, even among green teas from the Himalayan region. This tea does not have any immediate bite, unlike most Chinese and Japanese greens of a similar overall strength. This tea definitely resembles a Darjeeling but it packs a bit more of a punch--more bitterness and astringency.
