Turkije (z) from De Theefabriek

This is interesting. This tea, which shouldn't be flavoured in any way, smells and tastes like forest fruit flavoured black tea. Here I was worried that I'd kept it too close to a package of lapsang souchong - the outside of this bag smells like smoke now and it isn't airtight - but I don't really taste any smokiness.

Tomurcuk Earl Grey Tea from Caykur (Çaykur)
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Turkey9 / 100 Aroma: 3/10 Flavor: 1/5 Value: 4/5

I bought this tea because I wanted a cheap Earl Grey and I hadn't had any tea from Turkey before. This was very cheap; if I recall correctly it was under €4 for 300 grams.
However, I don't like it at all. I gave up trying to drink it after a few cups. Now, almost a year later, I'm trying it again. I still don't li...
Thé du Hammam from Palais des Thés

Round-bodied, light and docile. This is, by all means, a pivotal tea that evokes pre-capitalist notions of pleasure.

This is a great, inexpensive, hearty tea. I like it in the morning because it brews fairly strong. However, the taste is more subtle than you'd expect, sort of herbal with almost floral overtones. Definitely a great tea to have on hand.

This was the first tea that I really appreciated in my life, so I may be a bit partial. I really like this tea prepared the Turkish way with a fair amount of sugar. Its taste is really peculiar.
I've tasted other Turkish teas, but this one stays my favorite.
Altınbaş Çayi (Altinbas Cayi) from Caykur (Çaykur)

I recently sampled this, mentally comparing it with the Filiz Cayi from Caykur. I thought this tea was delightful, I think a much better tea than the Filiz Cayi, which was pleasant, light and smooth, but without much depth.
Using a teaspoon of leaf and a 3 minute steep, brews up a light body, with a clear liquor. ...
Filiz Cayi (Tea Special, Black Tea) from Caykur (Çaykur)
Style: Black Tea – Region: Turkey73 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

This is a typical Turkish everyday tea. The tea itself is grown in Rize, in the Karadeniz (English: black sea) region of northern Turkey. The climate in this region is mild and wet and as a result this region produces pleasingly delicate tea which is lightly floral, toasty and low in tannins. The light, low tannin natu...

I enjoy blending this with other teas, but it is good on its own, too. Great price.

A very light tea...aroma suggestive of rice and cereal. Muted flavor. A hint of wintergreen in the finish. Not terribly complex, however. I'm starting to get a sense for a particular character that Turkish teas have, and this was recognizable as such.
The leaf of this tea is so finely broken that it falls throug...
Tomurcuk Earl Grey Tea from Caykur (Çaykur)
Style: Earl Grey Tea – Region: Turkey70 / 100 Aroma: 6/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 5/5

The dry leaf is finely broken and has an aroma mostly of bergamot. But upon brewing this tea I was surprised to find that it has a bold black tea presence with only a hint of bergamot in the cup.
The black tea is also very interesting. It's malty like an Assam, but very gentle, lacking the strength and richness th...
