Oooh, now this is an interesting tea. I wouldn't be in the right mood for it all the time, but when you need just a hint of fruitness or sweetness it's just about right. The scent is quite pleasant--it reminds me of a plum wine or even sake. It seems that oolong was a pretty good choice to blend with plum. There must be some unwaked memory inspired by the scent because it makes me think of my great aunt or a general grandparently aroma--but in a good, comforting way. Very interesting.
I brewed this at work (as I tend to do bagged teas), so I can't give many details on the preparation other than to say it involved filtered hot water and a couple minutes of steeping.
Update: By the second brewing I did sense myself getting tired of the flavor. So again, you really have to be in the right mood for this one.

The tea bag has an interesting smell that reminds me of the inside of a used furniture store...like the smell of old upholstery with a hint of potpourri.
Upon brewing, a little muddled smelling and tasting. The flavoring is subtle, not overwhelming, and seems to blend well with the base tea. My problem is that the base tea seems rather low quality. The leaf is finely broken and the total effect is like a typical, generic oolong of low quality, sort of like the low end of what I've tended to get served in Chinese-American restaurants.
I find the cup tastes better when cooled to room temperature, but I still dislike the base tea...it is a bit harsh, somewhat bitter and astringent, in ways that I don't like.
I appreciate that the flavoring was not overdone, and was well-chosen to pair with oolong, but I think this tea would be a lot better if the base tea were higher quality. As it is I probably would not recommend it and would not drink it again.

I thought this tea was a steal and really good for being from novelty company! I've found their boxes for $1.50 -- not bad if you ask me.
The tea smelled like plum, and had a nice taste, albeit bitter, but nice. It was strong for an oolong and I thought it tasted more like a black.
If you are looking for a subtle oolong, I probably wouldn't go for this one. I'd recommend it though if you have an open mind and like black tea!
Oh and can we take a moment for the graphics? Their box with the dachshund is really cute. I wish more tea companies would consider the look of their packaging -- most of BlueQ's are eye-catchers!
