This is a classic English Breakfast tea. Medium strength, full-bodied, good black tea aroma with some complexity. There's some earthiness and a pleasant hint of floral black tea tones. Moderately bitter and fairly astringent.
I tried brewing this with different brewing lengths and found no advantage to a longer steep time. I settled on a brief, 1-minute infusion. This didn't seem to result in any loss of aroma compared to a longer 3 or 4 minute steeping, but it did result in a much less tannic cup, which was particularly enjoyable when reaching the bottom of the cup. Although I preferred a brief infusion, even with a long infusion this tea was still pleasant.
