Somehow I let this sample that I bought slip through the cracks and only am trying it now. Unfortunately, it's no longer for sale. A shame, because I thought it outstanding!
The dry leaf is quite beautiful, short, curly leaves with lots of golden tips, and has a complex and fascinating fragrance, sort of fruity, a raisiny, dried fruit quality, and a little earthy or dirty, hinting at spice and malt but not overwhelmingly malty as some Assams are. I'm very curious to try it.
Brews a cup that is strong and brisk, and a bit maltier in aroma than the dry leaf suggests. Full-bodied, and both bitter and astringent up-front, with a sort of biting or cutting quality, and at the same time very warming. Significant savory flavor; it's easy not to notice it underneath the rich sensations of this tea, but when I pay attention, it is both present and strong. A hint of wintergreen comes out, especially towards the end of a strongly-brewed cup. Resteeps very well.
I love how I feel after drinking this. This is my type of tea. Reminds me a lot of the one I tried from Taylors of Harrogate a while back, from Doomur Dullung Estate (Sivasagar); it makes sense because this garden is from a bordering district of upper Assam (Dibrugarh).

(5 minute steep) Liquor has a brown honey color. Mild, good taste. No after taste.
