This tea was incredibly pleasant and very enjoyable. I love rose-scented tea, and this one smells intensely of rose.
Brews up a rich light-brown cup, relatively clear. Aroma very strong of rose, pleasant, and sharp. The base tea is very pleasant, but is somewhat backgrounded by the rose. The base tea is earthy and complex, but without the dusty tones I associate with a lot of dark tea.
Flavor is mellow and smooth, but with a bold, almost bitter streak that I think is from the rose (I notice this same quality, which I find pleasant, when I add rose petals to my tea).
I wish I could taste the base tea by itself, unscented, because it seems like the kind of thing I'd like. But I love the rose with the tea. Although this wasn't balanced (the rose definitely overpowers the tea), I liked the total effect.
Brews three infusions: the second is more earthy, and the base tea is most evident. The third infusion was more perfumey and fruity in aroma. I steeped for 3, 5, and 12 minutes.
I think the price on this is good, if buying buy the pound; it's a little pricey in the tin. Falls short of a top-notch scented tea because I think the rose scenting is slightly overdone. But that didn't stop me from enjoying it.
