Served at Velvet Sky Bakery in Jenkintown, my favorite place to sample Octavia's teas.
I love mint, but I tend to strongly prefer herbal teas brewed from other varieties of mint, like spearmint or apple mint, rather than peppermint.
Brews a dark amber with a tinge of greenish.
Very potent aroma, but somehow without being overwhelming. Intense, candy-like peppermint aroma, but followed by an herbaceous background. Reminds me of a candy cane, but not quite as transient or fleeting in the minty aroma as some pure peppermint teas.
Very cooling on the palate. Also very good for making multiple infusions...after brewing once, the leaf was still full of aroma.
The price is not exorbitant, given the quality of this herb, and the added bonus of organic certification, but given that this particular variety of mint tends to grow out of control in this climate (including in the garden at my parents' house), I can't see myself buying any when I have an essentially endless supply of the fresh or dried herb from home.
