Had a teabag stashed in my work bag - and lo and behold it was Twinings Green tea - not even sure where I got it from - not from home - likely from an office or an event I had been to
So I was hankerin' for something OTHER that the Lipton "Wake dat a$$ up" black tea in the office so i brewed up the Twinings Green. Honestly? It's fine - not great not awful. A little astringent, vegetal/green.
No holy grail -but sure as heck better (for me) than Lipton Black.

I should preface this by saying before discovering twinnings, the only teas I were used to were the walmart bargain brands. So, my expectations were exceptionally low. I had just seen that it was the most expensive Green Tea at walmart, and being one that enjoys Green Tea for it's health benefits, I figured i'd try the best that Walmart had to offer. Upon openinig the bag, I was impressed that there was more in the Tea Bag of the Twinings brand. Nearly twice as much as the bargain brand.
So I went ahead and made a tea with it that I let steep for 5 minutes. I have to say, I absolutely loved it. The taste, The aroma, they were leagues ahead of the generic walmart brand and I really enjoyed that. I feel like this was my re-introduction into actually going to greater lengths to acquire higher quality teas. So if you're reading this and you're drinking a bargain tea, give Twinings to try a tea with a good degree of quality comparatively speaking. If you're drinking a green tea for health, you should at least get one that's made in a way that can benefit your health. :P

This green tea is somewhat interesting in both good and bad ways. The flavor reminds me of a Sencha, sort of...but considerably more "dirty" and "fishy" and "harshly herbal" than the better varieties of that style. Astringency reminds me of certain black teas when even slightly over steeped.
When I do drink it (very rarely) I brew this one absolutely no longer than 1 minute and 20 seconds. Even a full 2 minutes brings out way too much "dirtiness" in the flavor and is...not good.
I use my standard 175 - 180 degree (F) water for this one and couldn't imagine what it would taste like with nearly boiling water :)
For some strange reason though, if brewed very precisely, it can be refreshing for me. I will attempt to make it into an iced tea, but it'll need sugar.
So I don't hate it, really, but certainly would not recommend it aside from its, lets say unique character and challenge of brewing it :) Oh and the possibility of making a decent sweetened green iced tea.
Update - Writing this review got me to drinking another cup of this tea... Honey or sugar are your friends with Twinings green tea. :) I have peppermint growing in the yard and will experiment adding that as well.
Still though, I doubt I'll ever go out of my way to find this tea when there are so many better green tea options alongside it even in a grocery store.

This tastes like a typical low-quality green tea. I don't usually like green tea very much. I like this better than higher quality green teas, but nothing stands out to me about it. It has a very mild flavor. I added cream and sugar.

I was disappointed by this one, and this is my least favorite tea from Twinings yet. If you brew it with boiling water, it's very astringent. With water at a lower temperature, it's not flavorful enough. The aroma is muddled...this tea, unfortunately, seems to have acquired the worst aspects of a Sencha without the pleasant aspects.
My recommendation, stick with the black teas and traditional English teas that Twinings does best. If you're going to drink green tea, try any number of other brands.
