Mellow Monk is a tea company that specializes in Japanese green tea that has been produced by small, family-owned farms in an environmentally-friendly manner. All of their tea originates in the Aso region of Kumamoto, Japan.
Mellow Monk only sells teas grown by family-owned farming operations. Mellow Monk's teas are certified by the San Francisco Bay Area Green Business Program. The teas are also certified under Japan's Eco Farmer program, a program run by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

Very solid, smooth tea! The vegetal scent and flavor reminded me of tea in Japan, and I appreciated the bright green tint of the water. I've enjoyed a few cups of it already, but want to brew it again tomorrow, then give a fuller review once I've really had time to sit down and enjoy it.

Picked this tea up on the recommendation of a friend, found it a good value.
Tea leaves are small, rolled, deep dark emerald green. Put 1tsp in about 8-10oz of water around 175 degrees F for brewing, for around 1:30.
