This tea has a lovely blend of floral (jasmine) and sweet/nutty (roasted chestnut) aromas. It does stand up to multiple steepings, but the first one was definitely the nicest.

The aroma is very rich, rich and chocolaty with notes of malt and earthiness. It reminds me of tea mixed with milk chocolate. Once brewed there is more of a 'tea' aroma than chocolate. The liquid is richy earthy and ties the pu erh in nicely with the black tea and chocolate.

This tea was developed by the "lower" classes in Japan, to stretch out the expensive tea. I'm not usually a fan of Japanese greens, but I like this one because the toasty, popcorny, nuttiness makesa great combination with the greeniness of the tea itself. I think this is better than many I have had of genmaicha
