For some this tea is probably perfect. They can likely enjoy the muted spectrum of flavor and scent that is mostly lost on me. As much as I’d like to be in their camp, I need the volume on my white tea to by dialed just a bit higher. That said, what I do taste and smell is not bad. This is an enjoyable, if muted, tea with a slight floral scent (and like another reviewer explained it, some bread dough) and little to no bitterness (no matter how long I let this sit).

I’ve also noticed that the leaves have this marathon quality, so I can get the same weaker cup of tea out of this for several long steeps.

Brews a dark color for a silver needle, but the flavor profile is more like what I'd expect for a silver needle.

Aroma is mellow, mostly vegetal, slightly floral but only weakly so. Sweet, no bitterness. I used a very long steep time (>10 min.) and it had only a little astringency.

This is not my favorite style of tea. But this tea was solidly good. It's pricey though...and I don't think it's really worth the price, especially after being really wowed by Adagio's White Peony / Pai Mu Tan, which is about a third the price. I'm not a silver needle connoisseur, so I can't say how this would compete with other teas of this style, but my intuition is that this is an above-average silver needle, but I just don't like this style as much as the darker white teas.

I was expecting this tea to be too weak for my taste, but it actually had a good amount of flavor. I'm not the best judge of gourmet teas, though, but I've started liking white teas more. The silver needle doesn't have as much of the tangy flavor of other white teas I've tasted.
