It's hard to rate this product because it doesn't sit still, even though it has just three stated ingredients: rooibos, vanilla flavoring, and vanilla bean. The quality and flavor seemed to vary a lot over time, within a given cup. Overall, it's a decent representative of flavored rooibos, and at times presents itself quite deliciously, if one likes vanilla. Yet like a passionate fling with someone attractive, but of questionable trustworthiness, it can turn you on, then turn on you, fairly fast. Drink it quickly before it does the latter.
The dry bag gave off mostly a rooibos scent, with hints of vanilla; the wet bag is much the same, but of course more humid. In-cup, this tea behaved oddly. At first, when hot and fresh, the vanilla scent was fairly pronounced, while that and rooibos flavors balanced each other out nicely; in that stage, it came across as more of a vanilla tea than rooibos, but with a hearty balance. The best part of the experience (and it was very nice) was the first 5-10 sips or so.
However, with time and cooldown, vanilla faded from scent and taste, and the characteristic broom-straw flavor of rooibos became clearly dominant, with vanilla only returning in the aftertaste. I don't think CS uses a high-quality rooibos here, either. By the time I get to the bottom of a cup, it's somewhat musty and not very flavorful at all, with a mildly metallic aftertaste. Overall, I found this much better hot than cold, which doesn't bode well for its potential as an iced tea.

I like this tea. I don't normally like rooibos, but I guess it blends well with vanilla. I added cream and sugar.

Aroma: sweet, floral and earthy.
Flavor: a touch on the light side; no more than 10 oz H20 per bag. Begins with the woody/herbal character of the rooibos, followed by the vanilla sweetness.
Value: Solid- not expensive, and convenient.
Overall: I love rooibos, and this is a perennial favorite.

The vanilla makes it too sweet. Not my favorite rooibos.

Red tea has a unique and sweet flavor by itself, but combine it with vanilla and it is quite enhanced. Celestial Seasonings did a fine job with flavor balance, as the vanilla isn't too strong, but rather enhances the red tea's natural sweetness. It is a great breakfast tea (unless you desire caffeine) or as an evening sweet treat. I add nothing to it, and thoroughly enjoy the sweet flavors.
The tea has a full flavor, but without having any spice to it, which is nice. It is mellow yet deep in its sweetness. Lovely tea.

I imagine myself sitting outside on a deck in the summer time lazily watching the sun set when I have a cup of this tea, regardless of what the scenery might actually be. It is a very smooth tasting tea with a light sweetness to it. I feel like it is a very well done blend of flavors.

Forgive me if this is a family website, but the first time I ever had this tea I was high. I was a college student staying at home to take care of my mother out of surgery, and I was rummaging through our pantry to find a tea. There was no way I could miss the packaging, which shows a full grown African Lion daintily sipping tea out on the plains, and I eagerly made myself a cup. Well, folks, that was one of the best cups of tea I have ever had the pleasure of gulping down. I have been a fan ever since.
