A positive review of the tea, but sharply critical of the company's brewing instructions. Brittiny remarks that, when brewing as instructed by DavidsTea, the result was harshly bitter and astringent. Using a much lower steeping temperature than recommended, Brittiny re-reviews the tea, now describing it as nutty, and with a subtle but sweet grassiness. - Sencha Ashikubo | The Green Tea Review

Wes Crosswhite of The Green Tea Review blog reviews this tea and also delves a bit into its origins and the history of the Ashikubo valley. Wes notes that this is a "Hika Sencha" with a roasted aroma, but much milder than a typical hojicha. The overall review is positive.
